Ad = Area densa, dient der Verankerung der Af = Aktinfilamente;
C1 = Cytoplasma der glatten Muskelzelle mit Aktinfilamenten; C2 = Cytoplasma der Schwann'schen Zelle;
Ca = Caveolae (Einstülpungen in die Zellmembran);
Cd = Corpuscula densa (dichte Körperchen = intrazelluläre Filamentverankerung);
D = Interdigitation (Verzahnung zwischen 2 glatten Muskelzellen);
Ec = Euchromatin (Ort der Transcription); Hc = Heterochromatin (an Histonproteine gebundene inaktive DNA);
Gcp = Gliocytus periphericus (Schwann'sche Zelle [Kern]); Ko = Kollagenfasern des Endomysiums;
Mne = Membrana nuclearis externa (äußere Kernmembran); Mni = Membrana nuclearis interna (innere Kernmembran);
Mi = Mitochondrium (Crista-Typ); N = Nucleus (Zellkern); P = Plasmalemma (Zellmembran).
